The easy buy scheme any good?

Hi everyone, I am currently looking at buying somewhere but haven't got enough of a deposit or earn enough to buy somewhere on my own. I have been looking into the easybuy scheme offered by some building firms and wanted to know has anyone used this and is it any good?

  • Have a read on the moneysavingexpert forum. My humble opinion would be if you can't afford to get on to the property ladder, it would be safer to save for a deposit. Owning your own property I still feel is so very important, how many people renting a property for 20 years will have the money to buy a house outright? Most people spend their money on other things and don’t then have the equity in a property which can be released at retirement age or sooner. One thing will be for sure, the properties will be over valued on the easy buy scheme. Be very careful and look to the future, it comes very quickly, consider the pitfalls.
