Is it a safe area? What are the pros and cons of living here?

  • Hi, I love living in Farnham, moved their 3 years ago and think will settle here for a while. The area is quite safe, I go for jogs in the park early mornings in the dark and feel safe to do so. The town centre is safe at night as well, I don't feel that I need to be on guard constantly. The only major con for me is that it is far from the bustling life of London, although the pubs here are great and Guildford is close enough if you want to try their nightclubs. Otherwise the pro's are the green surroundings, clean air and friendlier people. The Town centre has everything you need and the restaurant are great.

  • Farnham is a fairly relaxed former Edwardian town. A lot of pubs with a few decent resturants and some interestign boutique shops. Also a plethoria of indian resturants (7 at last count) but no MacDonalds (Council refuse planning permission). Very safe and easy to find people to talk too. Downside is that unless you live in the Town and can walk everywhere, you do need a car as the public transport infrstucture is dire. My local bus is erratic to say the least and on the days it does run, finishes at 18:15. Niot much good for a night out. Cabs (which all seem to be the one company) are V.pricey. Not sure, but impression is that Farnham, cabs are dearer than London cabs. Have been here for about 8 years, but now looking to move out as have exhausted the towns entertainment value.

  • Hi, We would suggest that you get in touch with local estate agents in order to get some background about the area. You can search for agents using the ‘find agents’ tab on the top of the Zoopla Page. We hope this helps.
