2 bed house, will it be ok for our family?

Would a two bed house be ok for my 5 yr old and 1 yr old child, with both me and husband?

  • Hi AK34, If you are looking to rent a home for a shorter period, I would say that it is fine for you to look for a two bedroom property at the moment, because your kids are still young, so sharing will not really be an issue for them. However, if you are looking to buy a property, it might be an idea to look for something a little bigger because when they get older they need their own bedroom and privacy. Most councils have a recommended age at which kids should no longer be sharing a room, and this changes from place to place. Generally, though, most specify either eight-years old or ten-years old. This is something to consider when you are deciding where you want to live. Many thanks, Scott

  • Hi, This is a great question, however we aren't able to provide a definitive answer as after all it's about your own lifestyle and what yourself, husband and 2 children will be comfortable with. If the property offers a good size living accommodation, we wouldn't see a problem with this for a short term period until the children are older which by then we're sure your children and yourselves will need that little extra space around the house. We hope this helps.
